Singer and Baglama player Derya Yildirim and her Grup Simsek are at the forefront of the current Anadolu psych revival. On their third album, "Dost2," the band led by the Hamburg-based frontwoman perfects their fusion of retro Anatolian funk from the '70s with sensitive folk poetry of the here and now. Friendship and family are the central themes of the songs, but you don't need any language skills to feel them.
With DJ Yunus as support, the band brings a fantastic combination of past and present, classics and original compositions, combined into captivating creations, on stage.
