Highs and lows, cyclones and El Niño. When ARD meteorologist Sven Plöger goes into raptures in the "Spotlight" discussion concert of the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra with TV presenter Jennifer Sieglar, one is infected by his enthusiasm for the marvel of weather and climate cycles and at the same time sensitized to Gregor A. Mayrhofer's unusual "Recycling Concerto" with the phenomenal young percussionist Vivi Vassileva. Foils, plastics, waste glass, scrap metal and aluminum coffee capsules, which normally pollute our environment as residual waste, are transformed here into a surprisingly fine-sounding melody and percussion instrumentarium, for which the Munich composer has written an original, jazzy swinging solo concerto. A "Spotlight" under the direction of Krzysztof Urbanski that is as inspiring as it is stimulating is thus guaranteed.
