What are faith, love or hope in the face of misery and hunger and hardship in the post-war period. It is precisely in this period that Elisabeth, as a young woman with a criminal record and confronted with the absurdities of bureaucracy, tries to make her way.
With the hope to break out of this vicious circle of bureaucracy and the belief in a better life she tries everything possible - to sell her own corpse, to get in good with a taxidermist and even the attempt to achieve a better future through love.
