Warm and melodious voices, delicate musical structures, electronic sound carpets interwoven with real instruments - you feel pleasantly enveloped all around by the songs of the Icelandic band ÁRSTÍÐIR. They remind you equally of the close-harmony arrangements of Simon & Garfunkel and the floating post-rock of their countrymen Sigur Rós.
Formed in 2008, the band was catapulted into the charts in their home country in their first year of existence. In the following years, ÁRSTÍÐIR took off in Germany. They won important awards for the band there. Wuppertal was also the venue for the performance that first caught the attention of a large audience (4 million clicks on YouTube) in 2013.
