Deux ex machina, originally the appearance of a deity with the help of stage machinery, can today be understood as a metaphor of our everyday gods. Because regardless of whether it's a real god or important junk - man has to believe in something. Perhaps even artificial intelligence will eventually be omniscient and omnipotent, becoming our literal god from the machine. Six artists were invited to perform texts on the topic on stage. This is the Preacher Slam Show in Frankfurt am Main! With a lineup of preachers, as well as interfaith and atheist poetry slammers, the event reflects the full range of the topic at the Open Church of St. James. Whether it's a funny story, profound poetry or a performed act - the audience votes with scoreboards for the finalists and then escalates for the winner of the show.
