On a "peep-box stage" lined with black velvet at Velvets Theater Wiesbaden, black-masked actors lead puppets and other objects through a narrow alley of light. Only the objects hit by the spotlight cone become visible to the audience, while the players remain hidden in darkness. This allows the most amazing effects to be created, blurring the boundaries with reality and transporting the audience into a world of magic and illusion full of poetry and enchantment.

In the stage version opera "The Magic Flute" by W.A. Mozart, Prince Tamino gets lost while hunting in the realm of the Queen of the Night. When a snake threatens him deep in the forest, he is saved by the queen - but not entirely without ulterior motives: Sarastro, the priest of Isis, once kidnapped her daughter Pamina to take her away from her mother's evil influence. The queen promises Tamino the princess as his wife if he frees her from the hands of Sarastro. To support him, he is given a magic flute and the jolly bird catcher Papageno, complete with magical glockenspiel. When Tamino finally meets Sarastro, he learns that he is not a villain at all, but the head priest in the Temple of Wisdom. But before the priest can release Princess Pamina, Tamino and Papageno must undergo three tests. But the Queen of the Night puts all kinds of obstacles in their way...

. The plot is set in an entirely fairy-tale world and is made for black theater! The interplay of actors with masks, puppets and pantomime acts as a natural unity and playfully highlights the fairy-tale world of Mozart's most famous opera. For adults and children from 8 years.
